Melanie is a seasoned financial services marketing professional and accredited digital marketer. She has many years of experience in taking brands to market and working with distribution teams in financial institutions. She has held management and director positions in various companies, including running her own marketing consultancy.
During her tenure as Head of Marketing for Afrocentric Distribution Services, she was instrumental in the repositioning of Bonitas Medical Fund in 2016. Prior to joining OLEA South Africa in 2022, she held the position of Director of Marketing and Distribution at Tax Risk Underwriting Managers in 2019 and was also the Managing Director of a niche short-term brokerage focusing on accountants and tax specialists in 2017.

Michelle started her career in 2005 as a guarantee administrator, managing the entire fuel guarantees administration process from application to issue. She then moved to personal lines underwriting in February 2008 and was promoted to personal lines manager in June 2008. She handled the entire lifespan of an insurance policy, from underwriting risks and issuing new policies to maintaining and amending policies of current clients, handling renewals, and retentions.
In July 2020, Michelle transferred from the personal lines department to the commercial department as a commercial broker. Currently, she serves as the head of the underwriting department for both domestic and commercial policies. Michelle boasts a vast amount of experience in the industry, and her passion lies in attention to detail.

For the last 10 years, Rika has been part of Apio. She has 20 years of experience in the Bookkeeping Industry and five years of experience in the Insurance Industry.
She started in 1999 as a receptionist at a construction company and after two years, started doing all the bookkeeping and administration functions for the company.
Rika’s experience includes employment in the construction industry entailed reception work and bookkeeping.
She was also previously employed as a bookkeeper at a firm during which she had a vast variety of clients in train touring, human resources, computer software support, restaurant, concrete testing, gas suppliers, body corporate and insurance trades.
